LEXINGTON, Ky. - Joseph Curtis DeLong, Jr., 92, passed away on May 6, 2013, in Lexington, Ky. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Nannie; his parents, Joseph Curtis Delong Sr. and Angeline McCormick Huguelet; his sisters and brother Mary Ann Johnson, Guy Huguelet Jr., Jaqueline Bradley and Mary Whitney Caulk. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family expresses their appreciation to Mike and Cindee Cornette for their loving care.
A U.S. Army veteran that traveled the world during World War II, Joe also had a long career at Greyhound Bus Lines. He was a KY Colonel and member of the Civil War Roundtable. A graduate of KY Military Institute and a UK alum that bled KY blue. He was also a member of Central Christian Church.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 8 from 5-7 p.m. at Milward-Southland. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, May 9, 10:30 a.m. at Lexington Cemetery with Rev. Jan Ehrmantraut officiating. Contributions in his honor can be given to Central Christian Church or the charity of your choice.
