LEXINGTON, Ky. - William Carlton (W.C.) Vice, 85, husband of Betty, passed away on May 14, 2013. He was the son of the late Carlton and Edith Vice; great-grandfather of the late Faith Macy Marshall; and brother of the late Francis Hardwick, Louise Reister, and Jane Watkins.
He opened the Casual Living & Patio Center in 1966 and loved his farming in Nicholas and Bath Counties. He was a member of the Optimist Club, the Thursday Night Club, and a deacon and former chairman of deacons at Trinity Baptist Church where he was a longtime member.
In addition to his beloved wife of 65 years, he is survived by three children, Linda (Richard) Cole, Versailles, Lydia (Jerry) Abnee, and Carl (Beverly) Vice, both of Lexington; two sisters, Helen (John) Bray, and Betty (Ronnie) Ratliff; seven grandchildren, Zoe Abnee, Keith Mitchell, Stephanie Hacker, Jeffrey Abnee, Amy Marshall, Matthew Cole, and Andrew Cole; eight great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, “Tipper”.
Funeral, Friday, 10 AM, Milward-Man O’ War, 1509 Trent Blvd., with burial following at Carlise Cemetery. The grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be the deacons of Trinity Baptist Church. Visitation, Thursday, 5-8 PM, Milward-Man O’War.
