LEXINGTON, Ky. - Henderson Y. Sither (Dutch), 93, passed away Fri May 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Adele Sither, and three brothers, Charles, William and Gordon. He is survived by his lovely wife , Lela May Parrett Sither, and two brothers, Allen and Robert, nephews, nieces and friends. Dutch was born in Lexington, Ky. on September 21, 1919 and attended school in Lexington. He graduated from Henry Clay High School. In 1941 the call came and away he went to serve and defend his country. Dutch was a World War II veteran. He served in the South Pacific and was awarded several medals: American Defense, Bronze Star, American Campaign, Combat Infantry Badge, World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He served his country with love, honor and integrity. After his “homecoming” from the war in 1945, he moved to Dayton, Ohio where he met Lela Mae Parrett. They were married on December 31, 1948. He worked at General Motors for 32 years as an Engineer Lab Technician. When he retired from General Motors, he and Lela Mae moved back to Lexington, Ky.
A funeral service will be held 12:30pm Tues at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg. Rd Lexington, KY with the Rev. Fred Hill officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens Nicholasville, KY.
