LEXINGTON, Ky. - Linda Lou Murray Work, 85, of Woodburn, passed away Tuesday at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care. The Woodburn, KY native was born November 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Homer and Mallie Meador Murray.
Mrs. Work was a graduate of the Business University and was employed as a secretary at International Harvester for 31 years. She was a member of the Woodburn Baptist Church until she and her husband moved to Del Ray Beach, Florida in 1978; She has been attending Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville, KY and was a member of Del Ray First Baptist Church. She returned to Bowling Green in 2005 and was a former resident of Chandler Park Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Work and a sister, Evelyn Murray Ballance.
Survivors include two nieces, Joy Bush (James) and Jean M. Ballance; two nephews, John Ballance (Phyllis) and Joe Neal Ballance (Pat); great nieces and great nephews, Julie Spears, Amy West (Ben), Jon Warden, Neal Ballance (Neely), Beth James (Garrett), Cristen Powers (Jarred), Sarah Renick (Corbin) and Cammie Barnard (Brian); great-great nieces and nephews, Cole, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Katherine, Clay, Will, Winston, Henley, Everly and Neath.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, June 7, 2013 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in the Woodburn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern KY, Woodburn Baptist Church or the Woodburn Cemetery.
