LEXINGTON, Ky. - Steve Hranicky, 60, husband of Ruth Ann Baker Hranicky, passed away Thurs. June 6, 2013 at his residence. Born Dec. 17, 1952 in Lexington, he was the son of the late E.F. “Tex” and Mary Anges Kurzendoerfer Hranicky. Mr. Hranicky was the owner and operator of Hranicky Construction, Inc., and a member of Cathedral of Christ the King. He formerly served five years on the Lexington Catholic School Board and three years as the President of the P.T.O. He also was a former board member at First Southern National Bank.
Survivors other than his wife include his son, Jody (Erika) Hranicky; and his daughter, Hope (Chris) Olsen, both of Lexington, KY. He enjoyed his seven grandchildren and was lovingly known as “PA” to Savannah, Kennedy, Cal, Gabriel, Dustin, Logan and Hannah. He is also survived by five brothers, Frank Hranicky, Larry Hranicky, Raymond (Brenda) Hranicky, John (Linda) Hranicky, and Martin (LaChelle) Hranicky; six sisters, Mary Ann (David) Ransdell, Rose (Bobby) Bates, Dotty (Paul) Claussen, Theresa Hranicky White, Jean (Mark) Profitt, and Cathy (Tony) Gamm; and was blessed with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 am Tues. at The Cathedral of Christ the King, 299 Colony Blvd, Lexington, KY by Father Richard Watson. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Mon. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd.
