Edward Albert Seiler, 93

obitflowerLEXINGTON, Ky.- Edward Albert Seiler, 93, husband of Ruth Ellis Seiler, passed away Fri, June 21, 2013. Born in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Edward and Florence Donawirth Seiler.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by his children, Michael J (Marilyn) Seiler, Lexington, Sally Ann (O. Robert) Hicks, Poseyville, IN, Susan Jane (Herbert) Burns, Jr., Winston-Salem, NC; siblings, George R. Seiler, Eleanor L. Scheidenberger, Albert J. Seiler; grandchildren, Robert Hicks, Herbert Burns III, and Anita Marie Hicks Teague; as well as seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Seiler and grandson, David E. Burns.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, he retired from IBM after 35 years as a staff product engineer. He was a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, Sigma Delta Gamma, and Mu Pi Kappa honorary fraternities, was a charter member and co-founder of the Bluegrass Lost Chord Club, the Bluegrass Gem and Mineral Club, and an honorary Life Member on the Board of the American Cancer Society. A Ky Colonel, he was active for more than 55 years with Boy Scouts of America, received the Silver Beaver Award, and was a Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp during WW II. Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Sat, June 29, 2013 at Southern Hills United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America.
