Dr. Howard C. Barnett, 88

obit1LEXINGTON, Ky. - Dr. Howard C. Barnett, 88, widower of Agnes Lane Barnett, passed away July 31, 2013. He was the son of the late Nellie and Justus Barnett. Howard was a faithful member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a retired Associate Academic Dean of Asbury College (now Asbury University).

He is survived by a daughter Janet (Fil) Simpson; two grandchildren, Joy (Matt) Mason, and Trae (Katie) Simpson; and three great grandchildren, Matthew Fields Mason, Harrison Cade Simpson, and Tenlee Lane Simpson, all of Lexington.

Visitation will be Mon, Aug 5 from 5 – 8 pm and from 1pm until service time Tue at Centenary United Methodist Church, 2800 Tates Creek Rd. The funeral service will be Tue, Aug 6 at 2 pm in Centenary’s Chapel. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Donations may be sent to Centenary United Methodist Church, 2800 Tates Creek Rd., Lexington, 40502 or the Methodist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 749, Versailles, KY, 40383. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. is in charge of arrangements.
