LEXINGTON, Ky. - Ann Ross, 78 wife of Ed Ross, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Baptist Health, Lexington. Born in Whitesburg, KY to the late William Dewey and Faye Cutshaw Elliott, Mrs. Ross was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Ann was a leader in Lexington and served her community and nation in several capacities including, Vice Mayor, Urban County Council (at Large), Planning Commission, Ethics Commision and the Fayette Board of Health; she was appointed by President Reagan to the White House Conference on Aging and served as a White House Liaison. Ann was also Deputy Commissioner, Dept. of Community Development, Economic Development Cabinet; Founding Director, Ask Us, Inc.; Director, Ky Educational Foundation, Inc.; Director, Bluegrass Education Work Council; Charter Member, Suburban Women’s Club; Member of the DAR-John Waller Chapter; Member of Women Republicans of Central Ky and most recently, Chair of Nathaniel United Methodist Mission.
Along with her husband Ed, Ann is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Phil) Katz; sons, Alan (Beth) Ross and Tim Ross; grandchildren, Adam Ross, Ali Ross, Sydney Katz and Faye Katz and her twin sister, Frances Campeau.
Services will be 12:30 PM, Wednesday at Kerr Brothers-Harrodsburg Road. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions are suggested to the Nathaniel United Methodist Mission, 616 DeRoode Street, P.O. Box 31, Lexington, KY 40508.
