LEXINGTON, Ky. - Doris M. Lake of Lexington, Ky, widow of the late Clinton E. Lake, Lexington, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013, two days before reaching her 92nd birthday. Born in Newburgh, NY, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Bertha Coy Marsh.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Tim Lake (Miyuki); two daughters, Judge Megan Lake Thornton, and Eileen Lake Potter (Jim), all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Ben and Clay Thornton, Brittany Wehrman (Bryan), Morgan Potter (Richard Wilson, Fiancé) and Sheehan Lake; two great grandchildren, Ella Marie and Harper Hillenmeyer Wehrman. She was preceded in death by four siblings and her son-in-law, Bill Bullard. Doris is also survived by a special nephew Ralph Giddens (Sarann); special family members, Shannon Penegor (Scott) and Kellie Hays (Kenny) and her beloved dog, Hooper. A very special thanks for the compassionate staff at Sayre Christian Village Reflections Unit and to her special friends, Donna McIntyre, Rose Styles, Lorene Hutson, Beverly Stinnett and Greg McWhorter.
Funeral services will be officiated by Fr. Norman Fischer, Friday, August 16, 2013, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, 101 Sanders Brown Bldg, Lexington, 40535, or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, 40504.
