LEXINGTON, Ky. - Jeffrey L. Gibbs, 57, born Dec. 24, 1956, passed away Aug. 21, 2013 at his home, 460 Morgan Ave., Lexington, KY, from a massive heart attack.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah M. Gibbs; his brother, David William Gibbs and wife Regina; several special friends; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his girlfriend, Fannie Louise Keith-Turner. He was preceded in death by his father, David Gibbs, and his mother, Mildred Gibbs, and sister, Linda Lou Johnson. For 32 years Jeff was employed by Bosch-Rexroth Pneumatics, Mercer Road, Lexington, KY, as an electrician and assembler. He was well-liked by co-workers and friends. He was dedicated, innovative and went out of his way to help anyone who needed it. Jeff enjoyed photography, his Jeep “Emily”, traveling, music, being with his friends in the backyard, history, trivia, motorcycling, watching movies, and telling jokes amongst other things.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 E. Main St., Lexington, KY 40507. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday. Jeff will be cremated following funeral services. His ashes will be taken by his wife, Debbie, to Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lexington Humane Society, 1600 Old Frankfort Pike, Lexington, KY 40504, in Jeffrey Gibbs name.
