Nancy Darland Long, 84

sunrayLEXINGTON, Ky. - Nancy Darland Long, 84, wife of 65 years to Maurice H. Long, passed away Tues. Aug. 27, 2013 at the University of KY Hospital. Born June 11, 1929 in Mercer County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Florence Gabhart Darland. Mrs. Long was a homemaker and attended Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors other than her husband include two sons, Gerald (JoAnne) Long and Kevin (Amanda) Long; one daughter, Marcia (Kenny) Laughlin; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jacob) Hibbs, Carrie Laughlin, Angie (Christian) Martinez, Kimberly (Sean) Lindsey, and Hanley Edward Long; two great grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Ahearn and Cameron Martinez; and a one sister, Mary Lou Darland.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Lescoe and Lorene Bastin; and a brother, J.D. Darland.

Funeral services will be 12:30 pm Fri. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. David Howard. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thurs. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd., Suite 200, Bethesda, MD 20814 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY 40504.
