Gus A. Koch, 79

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Gus A. Koch, 79, of Lexington, Ky passed away Sat. Sept. 28, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Born in Herten, Germany, he was the son of the late Julius Gustav and Wanda Koschewitz. Once a highly decorated Marine who faithfully served 20 years in the Marine Corps, he was a former Force Recon Marine who served in both Korea and Vietnam. In addition, he retired from Delta Airlines after 20 years.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Wilhelmina; a daughter, Anita (Tom) Martel, Lexington; two sons, Gustav (Leigh) Koch, Danville, KY and Karl Koch, Charleston, SC; a step-daughter, Sylvia Graham, Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Jordan, Ashleigh, and Jacob Koch; and six siblings: Ingrid, Analisa, Heinz, Passed awayer, and Klaus. He will be greatly loved and missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wed. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Graveside memorial service will be held at 10 am Fri. at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Honors. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Marine Corps League, 1749 Blue Licks Road, Lexington, KY 40504.
