LEXINGTON, Ky. - Wesley 'Sonny' Mullins, 70, husband of Becky Burklow, died Tues. Oct. 15, 2013 at Baptist Health Lexington. Formerly of Wheelwright, KY and born May 15, 1943 in Ironton, OH, he was the son of the late Albert Mullins and Violet Coburn Ferguson. Mr. Mullins was a retired electrician for Stanley Fizer, a member of South Elkhorn Christian Church, and a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association.
Survivors other than his wife include four children: three daughters, Kym (Shane) Pelfrey, Winchester, KY, Kris Popichak, Richmond, KY and Jessica (Sean) Nealey, Lexington, KY and one son, Jason (Jitka) Kelley, Lexington, KY; seven grandchildren, Wesley Mullins, Shade Mullins, Alex Popichak, Vance Pelfrey, Piper Nealey, Liam Nealey, and Aiden Kelley; one sister, Brenda Hall.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Clayton Ferguson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 pm Sat., Oct. 19, at South Elkhorn Christian Church, 4343 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY by Pastor Mickey Anders. Visitation will be 12 pm Sat. until the service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Galilean Children’s Home, 712 South Fork Church Rd., Liberty, KY 42539 or Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge, 7376 Old Danville Rd., Nicholasville, KY 40356. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. in charge of arrangements.
