LEXINGTON, Ky. - Clarence Kendall 'Ken' Moore, 74, husband of Doris Ann Moore, passed away Oct. 29, 2013 at his residence in Georgetown, KY. Born Feb. 5, 1939 in Wyoming, he was the son of the late William and Cleo Sweet Moore and his stepmother, Ruth Moore. Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Air Force, and had been employed with the FAA as an air traffic controller. After retiring from the FAA, he drove a pre-school bus for twenty years for Bourbon County Schools, was a Lexington Jaycee, and owned a blackberry and Christmas tree farm on Russell Cave Pike. He was a elder of the River of Life Ministries, and was a former elder at Christian Assembly. Mr. Moore was chosen as the men’s ministry leader for the Assembly of God Churches in Ky and was active in multiple men’s ministries and missions, as well as prison ministries. He was a Sunday school teacher, and was active in many church missions, including Gideon’s International.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Keven (Liz) Moore; one daughter, Karen Moore; three stepsons, David (Joy) Sanford, Gary (Tammy) Stevens, and Greg Stevens; three stepdaughters, Rhonda Maynard, Debbie (Tom) Dillon, and Trisha Carter; six grandchildren, Chelsea, Austin, and Amanda Moore and Jeremy, Troy, and Justin Sanford; and one brother, Charles (Joyce) Moore.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Moore; and a sister, LaRae Conley.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Sat. at the River of Life Church, 829 Clintonville Rd., Paris, KY by Pastor Krista Hampton. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Fri. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. in Lexington and 11am-1pm Sat at the church.
