LEXINGTON, Ky. - Lavonne Heath Williamson of Lexington, Ky and Naples, Florida, and formerly of Ashland, Ky, passed away in Lexington on October 23, 2013, her 79th birthday.
Lavonne was born in Hazard, Ky on October 23, 1934 to the late Lora Holliday Heath and the late Robert Heath. She graduated from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Ky, where she met her husband of 52 years, the late James F. Williamson, M.D.
Lavonne is survived by her three daughters, Nanci Williamson Simpson and her husband Bobby Simpson of Lexington, Ky; Karen Williamson Rogers and her husband Richard O. Rogers III of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Beth Williamson Manning and her husband, Dennis Manning, of Norfolk, Virginia. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Katherine Russell Simpson, Benjamin Haskell Simpson, Morgan Elizabeth Rogers, Richard Ovid Rogers IV, William Alden Manning, and Mary Heath Manning.
Lavonne’s daughters wish to thank their mother’s caregivers who worked tirelessly and lovingly to provide comfort and happiness in her final months: Shelley Baker, Ally Walson, Inna Bowen, Marilyn Ward, Alona Medyna, Marilyn Gooch, and Lindsay French. Shelley’s daughters, Calloway Baker and Caroline Baker also brought much joy to Lavonne’s life during her long illness.
A memorial service to celebrate Lavonne’s life will be held at Second Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Ky on November 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
