Linda Sue Watts Gant, 71, of Lexington, Ky

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Linda Sue Watts Gant, 71, of Lexington, Ky, passed away peacefully at her home after her courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. She was born October 24, 1942, in Frankfort, Ky, the daughter of Marshall Franklin and Edna Mossaleen (Johnson) Watts. Linda graduated from Bryan Station High School with the class of 1960 and attended Transylvania University.

Linda was married to Carl Stratton Gant, Jr. on May 29, 1964; they were married for 49 years.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and crafts and was a loyal UK fan. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s activities.

Linda was a member of Broadway Christian Church and Southland Christian Church.

Linda is preceded in death by her grandson, Charles Whitaker Gant. She is survived by her husband, Carl Stratton Gant, Jr.; her two sons, Kenneth Marshall Gant and Len Stratton Gant and his wife Kelly; her grandchildren, Marshall Wilson Gant, Robert Stratton Gant, Owen Stratton Gant, Kenneth Haydon Gant and Campbell Kirkwood Gant; her brother Shirley Ray Watts and sister Ann Marshall Watts Faulconer.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 20, 2013 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road. Pastor Mike Breaux of Southland Christian Church and Heartland Community Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on November 19, 2013 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. There will also be a reception at Southland Christian Church immediately following the burial service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Saint Joseph Cancer Center, c/o Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, Inc., One Saint Joseph Drive, Lexington, Ky 40504. The family of Linda Gant wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses and friends that have helped her through her long journey with cancer.
