MuhlenbergCounty Event 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (10/18/13) — Whoever said, "There's not much to do in Muhlenberg County." will likely be eating crow this weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening this weekend:

MCTI invites you on a hunting misadventure, as a highly talented cast presents "Escanaba in Da Moonlight", written by actor Jeff Daniels and directed by Sean Mooningham. It's a hilarious comedy about guys at deer camp (only this time, the guys are being played by women) in the great outback of Escanaba, MI. The production will be presented at 7 p.m. Oct. 18, 25 and 26; and 2 p.m. Oct. 27. Tickets are $8 and $12, depending on seat. Call (270) 338-7165 to make your reservations.

Saturday night at 6:30, Country Music Hall of Fame member Charlie McCoy shares the stage at the Merle Travis Music Center with Richard Kiser, another noted studio musician and a member of the Gospel Country Hall of Fame, along with Jason Coleman, the grandson of the late Nashville superstar Floyd Kramer. Log on to www.MusicConnectionsMinistry.com for ticket information.

Saturday night is also a great time to become a zombie, or just observe the craziness at Main Street Costume's Third Annual Zombie Walk, on the Courthouse Square in Greenville. All proceeds will go to the Muhlenberg County Children's Fund. Last year the event raised more than $3,000.

Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. the Muhlenberg High School West Campus will host the KMEA Class 2A and 5A Regional Quarterfinals. Plus the Western Kentucky University "Big Red Marching Machine" will also be on hand to perform.

Saturday at 5:30 Boys of Broad open for Marty Brown on the Clarence Brewer Stage in downtown Central City. The Oct. 19 concert begins at 5:30 with The Boys OF Broad", followed by Marty Brown at 7 p.m. The free concert will be on the Clarence and Brenda Brewer Stage in downtown Central City. Fans will need to bring their lawn chairs for seating.
