PADUCAH, KY - Edward C. Corts, Jr., 61, of Paducah, formerly of Knoxville, TN, passed away Monday at his home.
He was a self-employed contractor and was also a well known figure in the Knoxville music/recording scene, as a musician and drummer. He was co-owner of the former Corner Lounge. He attended Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Knoxville, TN.
Surviving are four children, Adrienne Corts, Justin Corts and Tim Corts all of Knoxville, TN, and Kendel Kennedy of Chicago, IL, ; four siblings, Patty Corts and Timothy Corts both of Paducah, Linda Smith of Gainsville, GA, and Marty Corts of Boone, NC; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. Corts, Sr. and Katherine O’Toole Corts; one sister and one brother.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 am Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Buckman officiating. There will be no visitation. A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
