Sara Roberta Green, 89, of Kevil

PADUCAH, KY - Sara Roberta Green, 89, of Kevil, passed away Friday evening, February 3, 2012.

Mrs. Green had been a seamstress, homemaker and a personal care assistant throughout her adult life, but her favorite job was Grandma to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Roberta gave her life to Jesus at age 9 and was a member of United Church of God, and enjoyed her Ladies’ Sunday School class at Spring Bayou Baptist Church.

She is survived by four children, Ann Poirrier and husband Rene’ of Gonzales, LA, Billy Green and wife Wanda of Hardin, KY, Trudy Loftin and husband L J of Hickory, KY and Lela Blalock and husband Greg of Kevil, KY. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Steve Fields, Tracy Bridges, Carrie Green, Cathi Harrison, Renea Buntin, Jennifer Blalock, Patricia Lovett and six great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Green, and a brother, Victor Smith. Her parents were Hugh and Halleen Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2010 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Entombment will follow in the chapel at Brooks Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

The Green family wishes many thanks to her caregivers, Glenda and Mary Etta and the staff of Lourdes Hospice.
