Raymond E. Brust

PADUCAH, KY - Raymond E. Brust passed away peacefully in his Western Baptist Hospital room, on Thursday, 29 March, 2012 after suffering a heart attack on 5 March.

He was 91 years old. Ray was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and saw South Pacific wartime action during several enemy island invasions. He retired from Martin Marietta / USEC after working there for 30 years, was an active leader in the local Boy Scouting programs here in Paducah, as Scoutmaster for Troop 11, sponsored by the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, and he was an active church member there participating in many of the various religious programs of the church.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Brust of Paducah and resident of Culpepper Assisted Living Facility, his son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Sherry Brust, of Monument, CO, and two granddaughters Stacy Grissom of Denver, CO and Shelly Brust, of Monument, CO. Ray also has a sister currently living in Paducah, Wanda Throgmorton.

Funeral arrangements have been set with Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah at the Blandville Road location with an open visitation period from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, Monday, April 2nd. Ray’s funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Milner & Orr funeral home location, followed by a brief grave side burial ceremony upon arrival at the National Veterans Cemetery located near Mounds, IL. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and his community.
