Mary Catherine Northington Wallace, 92, of Paducah, KY

PADUCAH, KY - Mary Catherine Northington Wallace, 92, of Paducah, KY passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Life Care Center in LaCenter.

Mary Catherine was born November 26, 1919 in the Bandana community of Ballard County to the late Clayton O’Dell Northington and Sarah Louise Hill Northington. She was a homemaker and member of Little Union Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, growing flowers and designing fresh bouquets for her home. Mary was a longtime faithful member of Olivet Baptist Church. Hospitality and service to others were her gifts to her family and community.

She is survived by six children, Norman (Patty) Wallace and Morris (Edith) Wallace both from West Paducah, William “Bill” Wallace from Hartford, KY, Jerry Wallace from Duluth, MN, Nelda (Dale) Gaines of Cookeville, TN and Annette (Terry) Becker of Nashville, TN; 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; and a daughter in law, Janet Wallace.

Preceding her in death were her husband of over 73 years, George W. Wallace; a son, David Wayne Wallace; a sister, Rebecca Ann Crotzer; and two brothers, Thomas Leon Northington and Morris Hill Northington.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
