PADUCAH, KY - Michael John Trew, 26, of Paducah, KY passed away Sunday at his home.
Michael was born August 16, 1986 in Denville, New Jersey and lived in Lake Hopatcong, N.J. through his sophomore year in high school. He graduated from Graves County High School in 2004. Michael was a 9 year member of Boy Scout Troop 111, achieved a brown belt in karate, and played the guitar. He was a cook at Steak-Out Restaurant and was a head referee for the Radioactive City Rollergirls. He is best known as “Strange But Trew”, the founder of “Don’t Try This At Home”, a side show in which he performed a variety of stunts at local events including Down Town After Dinner and Talon Falls.
He is survived by his father, Martin Trew and wife Kathleen of New Jersey; mother, Kathy Pruiksma Baker of Paducah; sister, Sarah Trew of Paducah; girlfriend, Kelsey Doyle of Paducah; grandmothers, Eileen Pruiksma and Dorothy Trew; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Nicholas Pruiksma, Frederick Trew and step grandmother, Hilda Trew.
Funeral services will be held at 7pm Thursday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with his uncle, Gary Pruiksma, presiding. Visitation will begin at 5pm Thursday.
