Jimmie Downs, 91, of Paducah, Ky.

PADUCAH, Ky. (12/22/12) – Jimmie Downs, 91, of Paducah, Ky. passed away at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at McCracken Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.

He was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel and was a retired terminal manager for Shell Oil after 31 years. After retirement he continued to work as an Independent Licensed Tanker man for an additional nine years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Lena Jones Downs; his wife, Nell Terrell Downs and two sisters.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Beggs of West Paducah, Ky.; two sons, Steve T. (Janice) Downs of Paducah and James T. Downs of Reidland; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Thomas Williams will officiate and burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Blandville, Ky. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
