“Red”, as he was known to many of his coworkers, retired from Martin Marietta (USEC), where he worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for 35 years. He served as Vice President of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union, and as Secretary / Treasurer of the National Atomic Workers Safety Council.
After his retirement from Martin Marietta, he worked at Enterprise RentACar for fourteen years, until his retirement in 2008.
Mr. Beasley was a US Navy veteran, a member of First Christian Church, and an American Red Cross volunteer for 24 years. During that time, he received the Hometown Heroes Award for outstanding volunteer service; and the Clara Barton Honor Award for meritorious service in a volunteer leadership position.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Beasley; and one grandson, Eric Beasley. His parents were John and Alice Beasley.
Surviving are his son, Kevin (Jeni) Beasley of Paducah, and his daughter, Pam (Steve) Krueger of Dekalb, IL; four grandchildren, Justin (Shianna) Horner, Jeremy Horner, and Steffin and Aimee Beasley; and one great granddaughter, Rylan Horner.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Roth Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jae Gottman officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the nurses who helped provide loving care to Mr. Beasley at his home.
