Audra Jean Stokes, 60, Paducah, KY

PADUCAH, Ky. - Audra Jean Stokes, 60, Paducah, KY passed away, Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 11:26 am at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.

Jean was a member of Rosary Chapel and attended Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and Draughon’s Business College where she received certification in Business Administration. She was presently employed as an Administrative Assistant with the United States Enrichment Corporation.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Weldon Stokes of Paducah; two sons, James Jernigan of Paducah and Antonio Stokes of Farmington Hills, MI; one daughter, Tracie Mathews of Smyrna, TN; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Beulah Morris and Yvonne Crowdus, both of Paducah and Pam Smith of Columbia, SC; one brother, Joseph Smith, Jr. of Paducah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph “Daddy Joe” Preston Smith, Sr. and Bertha Tharpe Smith and a sister.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, 1:00 pm, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 12:30 pm until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in the form of contributions to The American Cancer Society, 3140 Parisa Drive, Paducah , KY 42001. Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
