Saturday’s on the Square Ranks Top 10

SOSQUAREGREENVILLE, Ky. (4/24/13) – The Kentucky Travel Industry Association has selected Saturday’s on the Square as part of their 2013 Summer Top 10 Festivals and Events.

The 2013 season is the 5th year for this free summer concert series held in historic downtown Greenville. All concerts are held outdoors on the veranda of the fully renovated 100+ year old Muhlenberg County Courthouse. Each concert begins at 8:00 PM and occurs every Saturday night in July and August. Each celebration features a variety of musical genres, including gospel, rock, country, dance, bluegrass and oldies.

For the 2013 year, both old and new groups will be performing, including The Isaacs, Karen Peck and New River, the Kentucky Headhunters, Seven Bridges, The Ultimate Eagles Experience, the NashVegas All-Stars, Mud River Union and more. Food is provided onsite via vendors and downtown shops.

In panel of impartial judges select the Kentucky Travel Industry Association Top 10 Festivals and Events for each season. Criteria for selection include popularity of the event, impact on the local tourism economy and cultural and historical significance.
