Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Kortz, 58, of Paducah, KY

PADUCAH, Ky. – Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Kortz, 58, of Paducah, passed away at 3:55 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at her residence. Beth was a retired RN for the McCracken Co. Health Dept. and worked as a RN at Lourdes Hospital. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Beth was a caretaker of her parents, a loving second mother to her nieces and nephews always attending events from sporting games, graduations, baptisms, confirmations, school related activities, life events, etc.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Mike Wolford and her father, Edward J. Kortz Jr.

Beth is survived by her mother, Patricia Rance Kortz of Paducah; two sisters, Julia Weber and husband Dr. William Weber of Louisville, KY and Ellen Wolford of Owensboro, KY; a brother, John Kortz and wife Val of Paducah, KY, eight nieces and nephews, Eric Weber and wife Molly Westerman, Laura McLoughlin and husband Shaun, Jackie Tangerose and husband John, Carolyn Weber, Megan Kortz, Zachary Wolford, Nathan Wolford and Jarrod Wolford; and four great nieces and nephews, Noah, Kathryn, Morgan and Simon.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. J. Patrick Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

The Kortz family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m.
