MUHL COMM HOSPITAL 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (5/24/13) – John Countzler, Chief Executive Officer of Muhlenberg Community Hospital (“MCH”), announced today receipt of a Federal grant for $142,015 from the Health Resources and Services Administration (“HRSA”), a branch of the Federal Department of Health and Human Services.

The grant was used to offset approximately 37% of MCH equipment purchases totaling $380,000. The items purchased included a nurse communication and locator system, a pediatric cart in the Emergency Room, patient beds, patient room furniture, and stretchers throughout the hospital and Long Term Care Unit.

Mr. Countzler stated, “We were very pleased to learn of receipt of the federal grant this week. The money was requested to help pay for vital equipment needed to continue to provide quality, safe and comfortable care to our patients. Keeping up with available new technology in patient care areas as well as replacing aged equipment requires constant monitoring. Receiving $142,000 is a major boost to our equipment budget this year. We thank our government colleagues at HRSA for their assistance.”
