PADUCAH, Ky. - John L. (Larry) Ellington Sr., 78 of Paducah, Ky passed away at 1:52 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital.
Mr. Ellington was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and St. John's Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a retired chemical operator from Allied Signal.
He is survived by his wife Paulette Byrd Ellington; one daughter, Sondra Price of Paducah; two sons, John Ellington of Paducah and Michael Ellington of Paducah; one brother, Thomas Ellington of Paducah; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Mr. Ellington was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. His parents were George T. and Luella Anderson Ellington.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Tom Buckman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with prayers at 7:00 p.m.
