Shirley Grant, 75, of Paducah,

orangesunsetPADUCAH, Ky. - Shirley Grant, 75, of Paducah, Ky passed away at 4:39 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Mills Health and Rehab in Graves County.

Ms. Grant was of the Baptist faith. She graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1956 and continued her education, earning an Associates Degree with the nursing program, and began her 50 year tenure as an LPN at Western Baptist Hospital. At the time of her retirement, she was the longest active employee with Baptist Health. She was a two time nurse of the year and a very caring person who loved her work. She was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader, and a devoted grandmother.

Ms. Grant is survived by her two daughters; Julie (Lynn) Wilson and husband, Kenneth, of Boaz, and Marian (Grant) Cassity and husband, Gray, of Benton; two sons, James M. Lynn, and wife, Deborah, of Paducah, and Steve Grant, and wife, Kathi, of Lawrenceburg; one sister, Mildred Englert, of Paducah; 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Ms. Grant is preceded in death by her parents; Harmon F. Johnson and Lillie Mae Pierce Johnson; two husbands, James M. Lynn Sr. and Harold Grant; one sister, Frances Thomas; and one brother, Harmon F. Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Rev. Jamie Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013 at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy can be made as contributions to the Baptist Health Chaplin’s Fund at 2501 Kentucky Ave. 42003.
