Mary Jo Buchanan, age 77, of Paducah, Ky

PADUCAH, Ky. - Mary Jo Buchanan, age 77, of Paducah, Ky passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 1:40 am at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Mary Jo was born November 27, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Ruby Bennett. She was trained as a Registered Nurse and retired after fifteen years of employment with Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Paducah for fifty years and served with their Clothes Closet. An avid quilter, she has gifted many people with her handiwork. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. One of her greatest joys was helping with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Yates and Connie Kaler and husband Ted, of Paducah; her sons, Stephen and Rollie Buchanan and wife Christal, of Paducah; her grandchildren, Tony English, Kimberly Buchanan, Katie Yates, Alison Kaler, Delaney Buchanan, Aaron Kaler and Elijah Buchanan; her great grandson, Brandon English.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Frank Buchanan; her parents, Charles Everett and Ruby Wright Bennett; her sister, Wilma Lois Croft.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Brian Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to, American Heart Association, Kentucky Region, 240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.
