Edward Allen Steger, 88

PADUCAH, Ky - Edward Allen Steger, 88, of Reidland, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 4:16 pm at Baptist Health Hospital. Ed was born in McCracken County, KY on December 24, 1924.

He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Paducah. Ed graduated from Heath High School and served in the US Army for 2 years. He retired from GAF, after working there for 33 years. He enjoyed gardening, telling jokes, reading and serving others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Thelma Peck Steger of Paducah. His sons, Rhodes Steger and wife, Jennifer of Germantown, TN; Randy Steger and wife, Christina of Lebanon, TN; and Rodney Steger and wife, Sara of Huntsville, AL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and special friends, Mats and Annakarin Mehrstedt of Hamburg, Germany and Roger and Laura Thompson of Paducah, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John Thomas Steger and Effie Allen Steger; a sister, Edra Steger Gholson and a brother, Louis Steger.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Sunday, September29, 2013 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will follow at Hartsfield Cemetery in Marshall County, Ky.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the funeral home.
