William B. (Bill) Warren, 82, of Paducah

obit14PADUCAH, KY - William B. (Bill) Warren, 82, of Paducah, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his home.

Bill was born in Centralia, IL on April 1, 1929 to the late Buel and Ludie Ellen Lamb Warren. Bill served in the United States Army, 7th Mountain Division from 1952-54 during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Corporal. He was initiated into Plain City Masonic Lodge #449 on May 6, 1958 and has received his 50-year certificate. Bill was a longtime member of Olivet Baptist Church and became an ordained deacon in 1970. He retired after 30 years from Commonwealth Life Insurance as a Life Underwriting Agent. He then opened Warren Multi-Line Insurance Company which he operated until age 65. He loved to spend his time repairing clocks and watches where he made many friends by keeping their heirlooms from past generations running on time. He would say a two dollar watch given from a father to a son is worth a lot more than two dollars to the man who owns it.

Surviving are four sons, Kerry Warren of Paducah, Doug Warren and wife Barbara (Leidecker) of West Paducah, Jeff Warren and wife Mary (Gregory) of Paducah, and Philip Warren and wife Laura (Tweedale) of West Paducah; seven grandchildren, Clint and Emily Warren, Matt Warren, Jacob Warren, Eric Warren, Olivia Warren, Lindsey Warren, and Sean Warren; one great-grandson, Chase Warren; a brother, James Warren of Ortonville, MI; and a sister, Linda Witherspoon of Memphis, TN.

Preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Dorothy Marie Webb Warren, whom he married in April, 1955 in Crutchfield, KY; two brothers, Mancil Warren and Louis Warren; and two sisters, Virginia Holland and Betty Dodson.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Revs. Skip Parsons and Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Kenton Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to Olivet Baptist Church, 5186 Hinkleville Road, Paducah, KY 42001. You may leave a message of sympathy or light a memorial candle at www.milnerandorr.com.
