Maxine Hall Paris, formerly of Smithland, KY

 

obit7PADUCAH, KY - Mrs. Maxine Hall Paris, formerly of Smithland, KY passed away November 18, 2011 just one month short of her 93rd birthday. She asked, and the Lord answered her prayer to leave this old world and go to Heaven. Born near Smithland, KY to Gertrude Buford Hall and James Howard Hall, she became an honor graduate of Murray State University. She taught school in Livingston County for 32 years before retiring. After retiring she was active in Homemakers Club and hobbies such as sewing, quilting, gardening, attending her flowers and painting. She was a much beloved member of Potters House Baptist Worship Center where she was lavished with much love.

She will be sadly missed by daughters, Faye (Gary) Thompson and Ruth Thompson of Paducah, Donna (Arnold) Merritt of Smithland and son Richard (Rose) Paris of Muskegon, MI. Also surviving are sisters, Edna Ramage, Mamie Jones, Katherine Rednour all of Livingston County; and brother, Hughie (Louise) Hall of Chicago, IL. Much loved grandchildren include, Jim (Denise) Shakshir, Roosevelt, UT, Melissa (Brad) Winn, Smithland, KY, Clay (Carolyn) Cutts, Atlanta, GA, Michael Thompson, Louisville, KY, Jennifer Thompson (Geoff Sametz), Newark, DE, Chris (Bridgette) Thompson, Paducah, KY, Natalie (Kevin) Alexander, Albany, KY, Joshua Paris, Muskegon, MI, three step-grandchildren, Jared (Christie) Merritt, Angie Merritt both of Ledbetter, KY and Jenny (Kevin) Goodaker, Tiline, KY. Seven great- grandchildren include Laurel Thompson, Dylan and Kaylee Thompson, Sara Cutts, Lily and Raegan Winn, and Rudy Shakshir. She also has nine step great-grandchildren, Kagan, Kainan and Kaler Goodaker, Jared, Andrew and Kaitlyn Merritt,
Brandon, Amber and Kayla Covington, also several nieces and nephews,, brothers and sisters-in-laws.

Preceding in death were eldest daughter Linda Colin, husband, Richard Paris, beloved grand-daughter Sandra Faye Thompson, brother Howard Hall, sister Jackie Hall and her parents.

Services will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Potters House Baptist Worship Center with Revs. Fred Lowrance and James Rundles officiating. Burial will follow at Cothran Cemetery. Visitation will be begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, at the Church until service time.
