Freda Adeline Ross Black, 94, of Paducah, KY

 

crossflowersPADUCAH, KY - Freda Adeline Ross Black, 94, of Paducah, KY passed away at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY.

She was born in Aurora, KY where she was a 1935 graduate of the Aurora High School. Freda was retired from Claussner Hosiery Mill. She was a member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Society. She was a member of the Western Baptist Hospital Auxillary and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

Freda is survived by her three sons, George Richard Black of Paducah, KY, Phillip Lynn Black of Omaha, NE, Larry Houston Black of Elizabethtown, KY; two sisters, Elaine Jones of Kirksey, KY and Marilyn Brown of Paducah, KY; seven grandchildren, Ben Black of New Orleans, LA, Dr. Natalie Hodge of Paducah, KY, Tim Black of Portland, OR, Stuart Black of Melbourne, Australia, Jeremy Black of Minneapolis, MN, Emily Black Kaiser of Elizabethtown, KY and Andrew Black of Elizabethtown, KY; twelve great grandchildren, Sam Black, Simone Black, Sophie Black and Sarah Felicity Black all of Melbourne, Australia, Kennedy Hodge, Hugo Hodge, and Francesca Hodge all of Paducah, KY, Stephen Kaiser, Colin Kaiser, Jared Kaiser, Laura Beth Kaiser and Alexander Black all of Elizabethtown, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Houston Black. Her parents were Hardin Ross and Eula Wolfe Ross.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Paul Mullikin officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery in Aurora, KY. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
