CALVERT CITY, KY - Henry E. Cann, 84, of Calvert City, KY passed away at 12:40PM Friday, December 23, 2011 at Calvert City Convalescent Center.
Henry had a vivid personality, and loved life and visiting with people. He was a varsity cheerleader for Calvert City High School, and is remembered for driving around Calvert in his pink 1965 GMC, as he took his dog “Smarty” to Dairy Queen to get an ice cream cone. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Calvert City for 61 years. He retired from S.K.W. Steel & Alloys after 30 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #523, and of the Masonic Lodge for over 40 years.
He is survived by his beloved long-time friend, and brother, Bobby Ramage and wife Lois of Tiline, Kentucky; and foster brother, Dr. Jim Hamilton of Lexington, KY.
He was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. His parents were Whitt and Pauline Solomon Cann.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Monday, December 26, 2011 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory. Dr. Chad Badger will officiate and burial will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens.
