Dorothy Mae Alexander Sims, 84, of Paducah

obit7PADUCAH, KY - Dorothy Mae Alexander Sims, 84, of Paducah, passed away at her home on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 5:45 pm.

Dorothy was born September 3, 1927 in Marshall County to the late Walter Estel and Aimee Clark Alexander.

She is survived by her husband of over 63 years and soulmate for over 65 years, Willie J. Sims; three children, Joyce (Laurie) Sims of Louisville, Kenneth (Marilyn) Sims and Danny Sims all of Paducah; three grandchildren, Terry Sims, Amy Sims Terry and Emma Sims all of Paducah; great-grandson, Aidan Terry; five siblings, Don Alexander of Murray, Lena Smith, Judy Jones, Aline Reed, and Earlene Reaves all of Paducah; her cousin and best friend, Imogene Williams of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her siblings, Shirley Wright, Louise Frizzell, Mary Edwards, J.W. Alexander, and Robert Earl Alexander; and her parents. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dorothy’s daughter-in-law and primary caregiver, Marilyn Sims, loving family friend and caregiver, Chrissy Wallace, and Lourdes Hospice. Their faithful and loving care will never be forgotten.

Graveside services will be held at Brooks Memorial Park Chapel at 2:30 pm Monday January 2, 2012 with Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Visitation will be held from noon-2pm on Monday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
