PADUCAH, KY - Frances Josephine Rawlings left this life at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the age of 99.
Born Frances Josephine Oldani in Herrin, IL on September 1, 1912, she lived nine days into her one hundredth year. She had a good, holy and long life. Her lifelong faith was Roman Catholic. She was a member of Golden Age Homemakers, Daughters of Isabella, Western Baptist Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer with the American Quilt Museum. She met her husband, James while she was in cosmetology school in 1931 in Paducah.
She is survived by three children, Virginia Rawlings Hugg and husband Louis of Frankfort, KY, Linda Rawlings Adams and husband Bill of Paducah, KY and Charles Rawlings of Paducah, KY; granddaughters, Gwenn Mullinax and husband Andy of Lone Oak and Amey Hugg of Louisville, KY; grandson, Jason Hugg of Lexington, KY; great granddaughters, Drew, Piper and Riley Mullinax all of Lone Oak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Adrian Rawlings, a grandson, Christopher Adams and a sister, Mary Garagiola. Her parents were Joseph and Virginia A. Barbaglia Oldani.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Ryan Harpole officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The Rawlings family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
