Oma Catherine (Snookie) Elliott, 89

 

PADUCAH, KY - Oma Catherine (Snookie) Elliott, 89, born January 14, 1922 in Paducah, KY went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2011.

She was currently a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, and previously a member of Northside United Methodist Church where she served as church school teacher, Chancel Choir member and church treasurer for many years. She was baptized at Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Shiloh High School where she was valedictorian of her class, worked in the cosmetics department at the former Shoppers Fair and retired from Payless Drugs, Paducah, KY.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, James Alfred Elliott of West Paducah, son Rev. James Michael Elliott, of West Paducah, daughter Kathy Elliott Hunt (Terry) of West Paducah, son Patrick Lee Elliott of Dayton, Ohio, sister Ruth Ballard of Paducah, eight grandchildren, Jessica Elliott, Jared Elliott, Dr. Patrick Elliott, Michael Elliott, James Elliott, Sandy Stone Ruff, Greg Stone and Bryan Brantley, five great-grandchildren, Zoe Griffin, Kaeli Elliott, Owen Ruff, Lyla Ruff, and Lucy Ruff, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents David Elgan Luton and Bessie Vance Luton of Paducah, sister Reba Smith of West Paducah, brother Billy Luton and step-mother Agnes Webb Luton of Paducah.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11:00am at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Joe Beal officiating. Burial will follow at McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Elliott will be 5-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
