Roger M. (Sonny) Fields, 96, of Paducah

 

PADUCAH, KY - Roger M. (Sonny) Fields, 96, of Paducah, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Southgate Health Care Center in Metropolis, IL.

Mr. Fields was a member of Free Spirit Church, a retired Finish Presser for Curlee Clothing Co. in Mayfield, KY, a mason and he was a U.S. Army sergeant Veteran during WWII where he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon w/3 Bronze Stars, American Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star, World War II Victory Medal and Bronze Star Medal.

Mr. Fields is survived by two daughters, Sunnie DuPerrieu and husband Frank of Paducah, Vickie Baker and husband Mike of Murray, one son, Roger Lee Fields of Murray, five grandchildren, Frank ‘Trip’ DuPerrieu, Brecken DuPerrieu Carneal, Chuck Baker and wife Amy, Leigh Allyn Kauffman and husband Keith, David Fields and wife Jessica, five great grandchildren, Kennedy Baker, Layne Baker, Ethan Carneal, Brooklyn Fields and Griffin Kauffman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lamoria Nance Fields and a sister Mary Louise Copeland. His parents were Roger Murrell Fields Sr. and Martha Josephine Griffin Fields.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2010 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dennis Lawrence officiating. The Fields family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
