saluteMUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY - Raymond "Wheels" Barker, 69 of Dunmor, KY passed away on a sunny Thursday morning last week (April 5th, 2012) leaving behind a legacy of friendship and loyal service not only to our country (NAVY 1963-1966) but to veterans across the Midwest.

After he lost a leg to illness in 2008 he still worked tirelessly to help veterans in times of financial need through Hometown Veterans, a local KY based organization.

He is survived by his step son Tyler Derenberger and granddaughter Christina Mattarn. He will be missed by both his adopted family, friends and fellow veterans.

Services will be in Key West Florida at a later date. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY. is in charge of arrangements. Condolences to the family can be made at www.garysfuneralhome.net
