GREENVILLE, Ky - Myrtle Whitaker Beesley Carr, 87 of Greenville, Ky. died Monday, January 28, 2013 at 12:02 a.m. at her daughters home in Greenville after several months illness.  Myrtle was born April 7, 1925 in Muhlenberg County the daughter of Nelson D. Whitaker and Kittie Mayes Whitaker.  She was a registered nurse for 25 years working at Muhlenberg Community Hospital for 13 years and Fort Campbell Military Hospital as head nurse over recovery and intensive care during the Vietnam War until retirement in 1973.  She was a member of  New Providence Methodist Church in Clarksville, Tn. and she attended Second Baptist Church in Greenville after returning  to Greenville in 1992. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman Carr in 2010, brother Manuel Whitaker, 3 sisters Mildred Stirsman, Ora May Whitaker, and Bernice Lovell.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon January 30, 2013  at 2:00 p.m. from Gary’s Funeral Home Greenville, Ky. by Rev. Scott Aleridge with burial to follow in Woodland Cemetery Greenville, Ky.

She is survived by
Daughter Carolyn (Mike) Robards of Greenville, Ky.
2 grandsons Todd (Nona) Robards of Greenville, Ky.
James Nelson (Christina) Robards of Greenville, Ky.
4 great-grandchildren Taylor Beth, Tanner, James Alex, and Christa
2 nieces and nephew

Friends may call Wednesday January 30, 2013 after 10:00 a.m. until Funeral time at Gary’s Funeral Home Greenville, Ky.
