harkinsGREENVILLE, Ky - Bishop Junior Harkins, 69 of Greenville, Ky. died Wednesday night February 20, 2013 at 7:09 p.m. in the Medical Center Bowling Green, Ky. after a short illness.  He was born on January 11, 1944 in Muhlenberg County.  He was the son of the late, James Bishop Harkins and Flossie Anna Boggess Harkins.  He was a UMWA coal miner for 37 years with Peabody Coal Company before Retirement.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Bishop Mickey Strader, Brother Joey Steele and Brother Doug Jackson.  Burial will follow in the Lee Family Cemetery in Greenville.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rebecca Jane (Becky) Steele Harkins of Greenville, KY.
