She was born on September 26, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Edwin and Edith Bell Howbrigg. After graduating from the New England Hospital for Women and Children in Roxburg, Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse, she worked for ten years as a pediatric nurse and later switched to geriatrics. At the end of her career, she was a Hospice nurse. Nolte volunteered at Muhlenberg Community Hospital and was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Newman of Greenville, KY; one son, Richard (Sandi) Nolte of Toledo, OH; three grandchildren, Julie (Blayne) Hall of Portland, TN, Clint (Andrea) Newman of Stephenville, TX, Neil (Beth) Newman of Greenville, KY; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Howbrigg of Calais, ME.
Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial visitation on Sunday, March 10, 2013 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY. At a later date, burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery with her late husband, Henry A. Nolte.
