MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. - Shelby Gene Brown, 67, of Central City, KY passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at 4:15PM at Baptist Health Madisonville. Mr. Brown was born February 26, 1946 in Ohio County. He was a car salesman at Davis Motor Sales, and was a member of Richardson Chapel General Baptist Church. He was an honorable member of the KY Colonels. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cager and Artie Turner Brown; and brothers Kenneth, Clarence, Billy, and Johnnie.

Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Penrod Gossett Brown; daughters Genette Brown of Greenville, Terri Lyn Garrett of Powderly, and LaWanda Reed (partner James Fulkerson) of Central City; step-daughter Nikki (John) Slobig of Central City; son Frank Brown of Greenville; step-son Jon Gossett of Milport; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Mildred Scott of Slaughters; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday after 5:00PM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Muhlenberg County Humane Society.
