Road Closure Continued Due to Train Derailment

RAILROAD crossing 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (3/17/13) – Yesterday, March 16, SurfKY News reported on a train derailment involving multiple trains exiting the track.

At this time, US 41, where the derailment occurred, is still closed due to clean-up procedures. According to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman, Keith Todd, this roadway will likely remain closed until 6:00 PM today.

A detour has been established via the Pennyrile Parkway between Exit 33 and Exit 37. Motorists will continue to be detoured onto Pennyrile Parkway until the clean-up is complete.
