MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/19/13) – On March 18, 2013 at approximately 11:15 AM, the Madisonville Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire at Wildcat Warehouse in Madisonville.
Upon arrival, a 2000 Chevy Metro was found in the parking lot of Wildcat Warehouse retail store with no occupants inside of the vehicle. Light smoke and flames were visible under the hood in the engine compartment area. Madisonville Firefighters immediately extinguished the flames.
The Wildcat Warehouse store owner had used a portable fire extinguisher in an effort to extinguish the fire before fire crew arrived. The fire was determined to have started in the battery compartment area involving wiring around the battery.
Owner stated she would arrange for the removal of the vehicle from the premises. The scene was deemed safe and fire units returned to station.
