obit dukesMUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. - Lois Pentecost Dukes, 84, of Greenville, KY passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born on April 25, 1928 in Muhlenberg County to the late Walter Pentecost and Daisy Fulkerson Pentecost. She was preceded in death by her son David Jarvis, in 1980 and husbands, Cleo Jarvis in 1952, and Jackie Dukes in 1992. Also preceding her in death were all of her six brothers and sisters. Lois loved them all dearly.

Lois worked at Muhlenberg Community Hospital for almost 40 years and retired in 1991.

She is survived by son, Charles (Debbie) Durall, grandsons. Patrick (Kelly) Durall, Jon (Darla) Durall, Cary (Elizabeth) Jarvis and granddaughter, Sarah Durall. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Wesley Jarvis, Andrew Durall, Sophie Durall, Alyson Johnson and Ashlee Johnson. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and a very special niece, Karen Jernigan.

Lois loved the Lord, her church, her friends and especially loved her great grandchildren. She was "Mammaw" to both grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow. She was the youngest 84 year old you could ever imagine. She loved to be on the go and went shopping on the day before she passed away.

She was a life-long member of Luzerne General Baptist Church, and a beloved member of the Women's Sunday school class.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, at Luzerne General Baptist Church with Rev. Kerry Vincent officiating assisted by Rev. Roger Wright and Rev. Walter Evitts. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 PM and after 9:00 AM Tuesday at the church. Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, is in charge of services with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
