octcs 01 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (4/26/13) – Turn your love of animals into a lucrative career by enrolling in an exciting new program at Owensboro Community and Technical College.

The application deadline for the new Veterinary Technology program is 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 1. This program will provide you with the skills needed to work as a professional veterinary technician in as little as two years.

The new program provides quality classroom instruction as well as real world clinical experience, allowing graduates to become a valued professional in a growing field. Graduates of this program will receive an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology and be eligible to take national/state exams to obtain licensure.

Program enrollment is limited, and admission is not guaranteed. Students applying to the program must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, an ACT composite score of 20 or higher and a minimum eight-hour observation at a veterinary clinic.
