MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. - Kenneth Laymond Bratcher, 86, of Drakesboro, KY went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital at 1:40PM. Mr. Bratcher was born June 5, 1927 in Muhlenberg County. He was a coal miner and retired saw mill worker. He was a member of Beech Creek Pentecostal Church and was very faithful to his church. He enjoyed woodworking and making bird houses and windmills.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Genon Bratcher; son Jackie Lee Bratcher; brothers Earl Bratcher and Getta Bratcher; sisters Lovell Conway and Fredia Farmer; and grandchildren Valerie and Misty Bratcher.
Survivors include his sons, Kenneth "Bud" (Wanda) Bratcher of Drakesboro and Gary "Pedro" Bratcher of Depoy; daughters Nancy "Dee" (Delmar Gene) Keith of Depoy, Sandy (Mike) Cartwright of Drakesboro, and Terisa Cartwright of Greenville; sisters Grace Palminteri of Chicago and Lois (Virgil) Browning of Greenville; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Roy Loney officiating, assisted by Rev. Estil Mayes. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
